Job Purpose

To support the efficient issuance and management of materials in the regional warehouse by assisting in the documentation, tracking, and dispatching of inventory items. The trainee will gain hands-on experience in warehouse issuance processes, stock control, inventory systems, and safety standards in a utility environment.

Impact

This role contributes to smooth warehouse operations by ensuring materials are properly tracked and issued to meet field team demands. The trainee supports the timely and organized flow of supplies, helping reduce operational downtime and improve inventory accuracy.

Key Result Areas

  • Assist in the preparation and dispatch of materials to various departments.
  • Support in documenting material issuance and updating records in the inventory system.
  • Help verify issued goods for accuracy in quantity and quality before release.
  • Participate in warehouse stock organization, labelling, and space management.
  • Work with warehouse assistants to implement the first-in-first-out (FIFO) stock rotation method.
  • Assist in checking material requests and preparing them for issuance.
  • Support safety and compliance procedures during material handling and movement.
  • Help compile daily or weekly reports on issuance activities under supervision.
  • Report any observed discrepancies or stock shortages to the supervisor.
  • Participate in warehouse audits, cycle counts, and inventory reviews.
  • Support communication with field teams to confirm deliveries and resolve material-related issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the warehouse issuance area.

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Must Graduated within the lastthree (3) years

Experience

  • No formal work experience required

Competencies

  • Basic understanding of inventory management and warehouse processes
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Computer literacy, including use of Excel and inventory systems
  • Willingness to work in a physically active warehouse environment
  • Ability to work well in a team and take instructions
  • Awareness of workplace safety and material handling protocols
